HOW TO CALCULATE WHEEL WEIGHTS
To obtain weight of a wheel, please refer to the following formula:Weight in Kg = D² x 2 HIn which D = wheel diameter in decimeter and H = wheel height in dm.The formula is based on a specific weight of 2,5.Esempio:Given a wheel 500 mm in diameter and 50 mm high, we have:D = 5 H = 0,5therefore:D² X 2 H = 25 X 1 = 25 Kgthe weight of the wheelFrom this result, the weight of one wheel with the same hole dimension, must be deducted. This calculation is valid for wheels with a vetrified agglomerative base. If it is a question of a silicon carbide wheel for grinding and rectification, you must decrease the weight of the wheel by 15%, for a silicon carbide wheel used to clean cast iron 10% should be deducted, if resinoid wheels are involved, add 10%.
